although jaxson and keno both have successful solo projects and have previously worked together before, this collaboration is bound to be their most notable release yet. a fusion of house, funk, latin and techno, all meet at the crossroads of their studios for a 4 track ep of sundry beats and fresh flavors. clearly the a-side, >tout le temps< is comprised of a clever hook and a hazy latino vocal sample, which carries the initial groove right into an originally played synth section. a good example of a refreshing approach to adding effects and using sounds. >tarantella< as the title might suggest, one might expect a track that would scare the living day lights out of you, but it has more of a >creeping up from behind you< sort of vibe. a subtlety creeping groove subliminally enters your unconscious mind carrying a secret message. what is that message you ask? dance! the congas on, >red baron< sound so live you can almost here the players licking their fingers. congas might be the groove in the heart of this tune, but the melody of the slick synth stabs and rising strings are what ultimately breath energy and spunk into this roller. >karate kid< initially has a minimal feel, but once the hacked up guitar and vocals come in, you can put those dirty thoughts to rest. abundant with an overwhelming amount of unique and interesting sounds, secure this tunes ability to prick up the ears of finicky djs and clubbers alike. it is rare to find such a wide variation of sound design on your run of the mill ep, but kindisch has proved they are not an ordinary label. they are consistently releasing quality tunes and always providing pleasant surprises. some might say it is a clichÚ, but this ep really does have a bit of something that will drive one club or another nuts

the latest addition to the muzic box classics series will feature a genuine ron hardy edit and another ole school track from the music box that was produced by a local producer known as mr k alexi. the ron hardy edit is very rare and has not been heard by many outside of the music box, chicago. the b side is a track that includes a sample of rons first ep on trax records entitled >sensation<.

the feel of late period chic and early 80s new york boogie is a rare thing in these soulless digital days, but this little nugget actually beams in from croatia. this is a sublime piece of music with nile rodgers guitar, lush piano and cool vocals all aboard big boogie bassline, accentuated in the dub and ultra cool instrumental.

reissue of explorers super rare and hugely in demand self titled explorer lp. originally released in 1982 on the tiny german label x recordings, and never available in any format other than vinyl, this lp is packed with sought after gems such as megawar, no. 8 and the must have enjaw j which features highly on many a cosmic djs wants list. written and produced in germany by multi instrumentalist tony carey after he left stadium rockers rainbow and before his reincarnation as revered prog rock outfit planet p project, this obscure album has become a classic on the cosmic disco scene and an extremely sought after piece of vinyl.

after a wait of 15 years and numerous 12es, e s, random compilation tracks and remixes rude 66 has finally finished a full length album and dare we say it s his most cohesive work to date? sadistic tendencies begins where 2005 s three faces of fear ep ended, with 18 tracks that slide like snails on the edge of straight razors, exploring the dark side of the human condition. thematically connected, deep, dark and mind bendingly analogue, sadistic tendencies is both tense and full of release, sometimes brooding and encroaching at other times exploding into throbbing synth laden dance floor bombs. superlatives aside, sadistic tendencies works exceptionally well as an album and is one of those rare 70 minute journey s that can be enjoyed from beginning to end – like a good horror movie that scares the hell out of you, but keeps drawing you in.

rinder & lewis: anger - considered one of the most abstract production teams of the disco era, this cut was taken from their >seven deadly sins< album (very rare!). never released on 12inch inch, this cut was a music box fave! not much to edit, just give it a dj friendlier drum intro. a great cut for a disco or a deep house set!mighty clouds of joy: time - one of my favorite edits! taken from their >its time< album. even thought this song was produced by dave crawford, the philly sound played a big part in it (thanks to norman harris on guitar & earl young on drums). the song was originally recorded in 2 parts, so i combined them with a little bit of dub. yes, you can give praise and boogie at the same time!
